In Aarhus, we take our pastime seriously. To prove it, we can display a wide and genre-hopping array of culture events.
A highlight is the Aarhus Festival: a splendid mixture of folksy celebration and artsy expression. Under this years theme of ’Big’ you’ll experience all kinds of music, theatre, film, architecture and design.
Every year Spot Festival showcases more than 130 upcoming bands, while Northside Festival displays the most popular acts in alternative music. And during summer, Aarhus Jazz festival brings the smoky atmosphere of jazz to the people.
Sports, too, have a special place in our hearts and in the last few years we have hosted such events as the U21 European Football Championship, the European Women’s Handball Championship, and the World Gymnastics Championship.
